Sorting and Drawing Families!!!!

This week we have been learning how to sort.  Today we did a SMART board lesson on sorting by color.  We did several different sorts.  The kids really know how to sort things.....I loved seeing them get excited about Math!!!!!

Today we also did something fun with our families.....we talked about how all families are different so we each drew a picture of our family.   I labeled when they were finished.  Drawing people is a skill that we are working on.....we will see major growth in this skill throughout the year.  This would be something fun they could do at home too!!!!  Practice drawing people at home!

I have no idea why Brandon's is upside down but it is too cute not to post!!!!!!
Ella Grace and Brandon had on cute Razorback windbreakers......don't forget to send a light jacket to school with your child for these cold mornings!!!!
Got this "happy" from my neighbor teacher Mrs. Hardin.......she knows that I heart OWLS!!!!!!

Gage was very serious with his pumpkin!!!  He wanted everything to be just perfect....I think he is like Mrs. Strom in that way! HA!

I hope everyone has started getting pledges for the Boosterthon Fun Run that will happen next Wednesday.  Today our class was told that we needed to make goals for our pledges!!!  So far we had 2 children Carly and Katie they have gotten pledges......they got to stand in front of the class and get a prize!!!  We have collect $6 in pledges so far!  These are the goals that our class chose......I love the top goal....NO NAP!!!!  haha he used that as an example for the kids and it stuck they LOVED that idea so they wanted it to be the top!

Check out what our other goals are....I will keep everyone informed for when we meet our goals!!!!

Today I had an observation by Mrs. Anderson.  We did a Science lesson about Solids, Liquids, and Gases......After the lesson we sorted out different pictures of each property of matter!!  The kids did a wonderful job!  Mrs. Anderson loved how cute they all were and how much fun we have in PREK!!!!

We had fun at centers today playing and learning through our play!!

Mrs. Hardin let us borrow her Tattle Tongue Book!!!  This is a great book to talk to children about the difference from tattling and warning.  I encourage you to use the following rules at your house about Tattling.....this age tattling is huge, but these helps kids learn when it is appropriate.

Here are the rules:
#1 is states that if someone is in danger then you need to warn an adult.
#2 try to work out small problems your self before you tell an adult.
#3 is the problem a NOW problem or a NOT NOW problem.
#4 MYOB....if the problem doesn't involve you then it is best to mind your own business.
